Resilience

Climate change resilience seeks to develop the capacity of anticipating, preparing for, responding and adapting to various possible future climates. It comprises a set of actions to improve awareness of constraints that a changing climate will induce and to cope with its impacts, while enabling communities, the economy and the environment to reorganize and be prepared to adapt and respond to new climatic context. Resilience corresponds to the dimension of climate impacts that a community or system can resist to before needing a complete adaption.  

What satellite technology can do for resilience:  

The increasing number and intensity of disaster exacerbates the needs for resilience strategies, and space technologies are crucial in providing systematic and timely observations of variables necessary in decision making and planning or recovery. Space technologies also play a significant role to build drought-resilient crops or revise land-use plans, improving the capacity of communities to cope with climate change impacts.
